ABOUT US

Maritime Life Precious Foundation (MLPF, / MARITIME) is a non-profit and non- governmental organization legally registered with the Registrar Generals’ Department (Registration ID – G.14. 903 and the Department of Social Welfare, Ghana.

Maritime Life Precious Foundation commenced operations as a legally registered Community-Based Organization in the year 2002 then later on upgraded to the status of a national NGO after registration in February 2005.

Since its inception, MARITIME has been contributing significantly to Ghana’s national HIV response as well as supporting vulnerable groups with interventions to enable vulnerable individuals to live as dignified human beings. Such interventions have included but not limited to Orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) Nutrition and Educational support in coastal communities, Health screening outreaches in coastal communities targeting retrenched sailors, fishmongers, and other constituents within fishing communities.

In spite of the myriad misconceptions and hostilities associated with implementing community level programs that seeks to address the health and human right needs of key population particular with regards to HIV/AIDS intervention programs geared towards addressing the epidemic among Key population (KP), especially MSM in Ghana, MLPF has been a solid bulwark in championing the national campaign to ensure the health needs of Key population (MSM) are met.
